Atravelq Featured in Mint: Founder Prashant Daroch on Rising Year-End Airfares

Our founder, Prashant Daroch, shares expert insight in Mint on why airfares are rising ahead of the December holidays and how travelers can plan smarter.

What Happened?

We are proud to share that Atravelq has been featured in Mint, one of India’s leading business newspapers. In its 27 October 2026 edition, the Mint Money section carried a story headlined “Sky-high airfares force travellers to rethink year-end holiday plans,” written by Shipra Singh.

The article looks at how rising fuel costs, reduced airline capacity and a weaker rupee are pushing up airfares before the December-January holiday season. Our founder, Prashant Daroch, was quoted as an expert voice on the issue.

What our founder told Mint

Prashant Daroch explained that airlines pay for fuel, aircraft leases and maintenance in dollars. A weaker rupee therefore feeds straight into ticket prices.

He also shared Atravelq’s fare data for the Delhi-Bangkok route, which shows how much timing matters. Fares in early December are much lower than in Christmas week. Travelling about a fortnight earlier could save a couple as much as ₹32,000 on flights.
