This 5-day culture tour adds Bijli Mahadev — a Shiva temple at 2,460m on a ridge above the Beas valley near Kullu, reached by a 3 km paved trail, with a ritual unlike any other in Indian temple worship: every monsoon season, lightning strikes the Shiva lingam and shatters it, and the temple priests reassemble and bond the fragments with butter and flour. The lingam is whole again by autumn. The cycle repeats.
