The Kullu valley side of the pass (approaching from Manali through Jobra, Chika, and Balu Ka Ghera) is a classic Himalayan valley: green, forested, glacial streams, rhododendron in flower in June. The moment of crossing the Hampta Pass at 4,270 metres reveals the Lahaul side simultaneously: brown-ochre, treeless, and vast — the Lahaul valley floor 600m below, the Chandra River silver from altitude, and the Spiti border mountains beyond. This 7-day solo Manali adventure package includes the complete Hampta Pass trek (4 days: Jobra → Chika → Balu Ka Ghera → Hampta Pass → Shea Goru → Chatru) plus 1 night at Chandratal Lake camping (the standard extension from Chatru, 18 km), with return to Manali via road from Chatru.
