For our honeymoon, we wanted luxury and peace rather than running between crowded bus tours. Atravelq’s curation of Wengen and Zermatt was pure genius. Staying in a car-free alpine chalet in Wengen with an uninterrupted view of the Jungfrau mountains from our private balcony was magical. Upgrading to 1st Class on the trains was worth every penny—spacious, quiet carriages with wide panoramic windows. The Lake Geneva lakeside promenade in Montreux was stunning. Their team coordinated everything on WhatsApp, from luggage transfers to platform timings, with zero stress. Truly personalised and top-tier service.

Explore your journey day by day, with every stay, transfer and experience clearly planned.

Arrival: Geneva Airport has its own station under the terminal. The train leaves from directly below arrivals and your ticket is already issued.
Transfer: An hour and ten minutes along the north shore of Lake Geneva, vineyards on one side and water on the other for the last half of it.
Check-in: Ask for your Montreux Riviera Card. Every overnight guest in the region gets one, it is funded by the tourist tax already inside your package, and it makes local trains and buses free for both of your nights here.
Evening: The Montreux promenade, which runs flat along the water past the flower beds and the Freddie Mercury statue. Free, and about as gentle a first evening as a long flight deserves.

Evening: Yours. Montreux eats considerably cheaper than Geneva and the restaurants a street back from the promenade are the ones locals use.
Morning: Chillon is four minutes from Montreux by local train, free on your guest card. It sits on its own rock in the water, parts of it go back to the 11th century, and it is the most visited historic building in Switzerland. Entry is included.
Afternoon: A Lake Geneva cruise along the Lavaux shore, included. The terraces above the water have been worked since the 11th century and have been UNESCO World Heritage since 2007 - 830 hectares of vines held up by stone walls, and the only way to see the shape of them is from the lake.

Check-in: Three nights in Wengen at 1,274m, on a sunny shelf facing the Jungfrau across the valley.
Evening: Yours, and this is the one base where you have three of them.
Morning: The GoldenPass Express from Montreux, three and a quarter hours to Interlaken Ost, with reserved seats. It climbs straight out of the vineyards and into the mountains within twenty minutes.
What it crosses: Gruyere country and the Pays-d'Enhaut, then over into the Simmental and down to Lake Thun. It is the only train in the world that changes track gauge mid-journey without you changing trains.
Afternoon: Interlaken sits between two lakes, which is where the name comes from. Check in for three nights, then the Hohematte park in the middle of town, where the Jungfrau is framed between two hotels.

Morning: Down the Lauterbrunnen valley and up by cable car through Murren to the summit. The whole return is included.
Piz Gloria: The summit restaurant turns a full circle in about forty-five minutes, so you see the Eiger, Monch and Jungfrau line up without getting out of your chair. It opened in 1969 and a Bond film was shot here while it was still being built, which is why it has the name it has.
Birg Thrill Walk: On the way down, a walkway bolted to the cliff face at Birg with a glass floor and a tunnel through the rock. It is part of your ticket and it takes about twenty minutes.
Afternoon: Back down through Murren, a car-free village on a shelf above the valley, worth half an hour before the last cable car down.

Why this route works
Three regions that do not look alike
Most Swiss honeymoons stay inside one valley and come home with one view photographed seven times. This one starts on Lake Geneva, where the language is French and the hillsides are terraced vineyards, moves into the Bernese Oberland for the high alpine village and the Schilthorn, and finishes in Valais under the Matterhorn in a village with no cars in it. Three bases, three completely different countries to look at, and only two moves. The move between them is the GoldenPass Express
The first hotel change is not a chore, it is one of the highlights. The GoldenPass Express runs Montreux to Interlaken in three and a quarter hours through the Pays-d'Enhaut and over the Simmental, and it is the only train in the world that changes track gauge without you changing trains. Most packages make you pay extra for a panoramic train; here it is simply how you travel between bases. The rail card is what keeps this affordable
Schilthorn and Matterhorn Glacier Paradise are two of the most expensive lift tickets in Switzerland, and a Half Fare Card halves both of them, plus every train and boat in between. We ran it against a full Swiss Travel Pass for this exact route and the card came out clearly cheaper, so the card is what is in the package and the saving is in your price rather than in our margin.Inclusions & exclusions

Traveller Reviews
We wanted a winter honeymoon that felt elevated and genuinely romantic, and Atravelq pulled it off impeccably. The GoldenPass Express leg rolling down into Montreux was an absolute highlight, as was the boutique hotel overlooking Chillon Castle. Zermatt in the snow was breathtaking—our room had a picture-perfect Matterhorn aspect, and taking the Gornergrat cogwheel up for sunset drinks was unforgettable. The WhatsApp concierge was quietly brilliant throughout, always one step ahead with restaurant bookings and subtle train updates. Seamless logistics, understated luxury, and wonderfully paced from start to finish.
From the moment we landed in Zurich to our final morning in Zermatt, everything felt effortless. Atravelq picked boutique properties with jaw-dropping views—waking up in Wengen above the clouds without any car noise felt like another world. The 1st Class Swiss Travel Pass made train travel feel like a private lounge on wheels. Whenever we wanted dinner reservations or a quick route change around Lake Geneva, their WhatsApp support handled it within minutes. It felt like having a personal travel butler on standby throughout our entire honeymoon. Outstanding experience.
We were looking for a truly royal honeymoon experience, and this itinerary was tailored to perfection. Skipping the usual crowded tourist hubs to stay in peaceful, car-free Wengen and Zermatt was the best decision. The views of the snowy peaks right from our bed were surreal. The 1st Class panoramic train journeys through mountain passes felt ultra-comfortable and luxurious. Atravelq’s support team treated us with incredible warmth—they even guided us on the best quiet viewpoints and scenic walking spots around Montreux. Very professional, highly dependable, and worth every rupee spent.

Frequently asked questions
Slightly, on most carriers — usually a few thousand rupees on a return fare, sometimes nothing at all. It buys you a route that never doubles back: you start on Lake Geneva and finish in Zurich, moving west to east in one direction. The alternative is a round trip from Zurich, which would cost you most of a day to get to Montreux and another to get back. Ask for an open-jaw quote when you book flights; many agents quote returns by default.
